What’s going on at Unsaleable.com? I just got a somewhat cryptic email from them about a new site called Polapremium - it says it’s “The New Home Of Instant Photography.” Could it be?! I knew unsaleable was obsessed with Polaroid and had some neat connections with different suppliers, but this could be amazing. We’ll just have to wait, you can check the countdown here. Right now it reads at about 633,730 seconds, which is about 10,562 minutes or 176.03 hours or 7.3 days - which puts it at about Nov 27th, 2008 - so this should be cool. Can’t wait.
EDIT: yea, my original math did suck- I think I missed a digit or something- it should be right now.

So I’ve hear about, read about it, seen it and even downloaded a version of it. But I’ve never actually tried using CHDK (Canon Hacking Developers Kit). Now it’s time to get in and start playing around. Coming later this week soon, I’ll show you all about my experience and resulting fun with CHDK. So Stay tuned!

So after searching craigslist every day for weeks, I found 10 packs of Time-zero, recently expired for $6 a pack.
I then lost them because I acted just a little too slow (they were located over an hour away… I couldn’t get there until the weekend etc, w/e- it ended up being good karma anyway- because apparently some girl had called the day before me from Colorado or something and said she was sending a check, the guy didn’t believe her and said he would sell it to me. The day I was supposed to come up, the check arrived and he told me sorry.).
I’m now officially over it.

Tomorrow I will be attending the Aperture Road Tour 2.0 seminar in downtown Washington, DC. A full day of digital photo management and the wonders of Apple Aperture. I hope to bring you live updates of the session with hints, tips, cool tricks on digital photography and Aperture workflow. If for some reason I can’t get an internet connection or I don’t have an appropriate place to type; I’ll be sure to post a wrap up of my day later tomorrow night. (The workshop is 9am-6pm). You should also expect to see attached my review and favorite new features + upgrades in Aperture 2 that I promised you.
If you’re interested in going, there are still 62 seats left. You can even get in for free- just comment on this post and I’ll email you back the username and passcode to register for free (If not, it’s $79.00 for the day - not sure if that includes food, but I hope so…).

So, this weekend I opened up a store on Etsy. We’ll see how this goes. It’s easier than building a homegrown store I have been planning to do for a while- I also get to worry less about advertisement and promotion since the store lives within an already vibrant community. So check it out here. Maybe buy something and support an artist?
By the way the (+D) is for “and Design” as I hope to make some of my none-photography-related crafts available.
So check out the Adam Dexter Photography + Design store here.
PS- I also added my Etsy mini store to the my sidebar here so you don’t even have to go anywhere to see my most recent listings, just take a quick glance to the right. For the full selection though, visit my store.

With Apple’s release of Aperture 2.0 I was stoked to read that the main concern and upgrade was operating speed. The biggest downfall of 1.5.x. I, being an Aperture early adapter, using it since its initial release was “wicked happy” to hear about this. I also recently had a lot of fun playing around with Aperture using the new Tether feature!
Tethered shooting support
Connect a supported camera directly to your Mac via FireWire or USB, controlling it using the Tether HUD. Aperture saves captured images in a selected project and displays them onscreen, allowing you to review them and make lighting or other changes before committing to the shot.
Gathered, tethering is not a new concept- but it’s totally sweet to see all these awesome features come together into one program for ultimate project management happiness.

Alright, yes, I just started a “My Lomography” set on Flickr. But I’m torn. Yes, I think it’s intriguing, cool and kind of awesome in a funky way, but I also think it’s bullshit. So I guess first I have to say a few things to clear my conscience and get myself sorted.
All thoughts, rants, praises and etc after the jump (more…)

Hey guys, so I’ve been busy and on break and the recap post on DIYphotography.net just passed me by, however when I was looking at my web stats and linkbacks I tracked it down. I just wanted to extend a belated thank you to DIYphotography.net for doing such a great service to the photo community by collecting and listing all those photo sites of some great individuals! I’ve always loved DIYp and this type of thing is just one of the reasons why. So big ups to DIYp and thanks again.
Also, I propose it would be a pretty cool idea if all of us photobloggers listed each other in our blogrolls, it would definitely help all of us out with visibility and would be a great way to get to know each other.
What do you say? If you’re down, drop a comment or blogroll me and I’ll blogroll you back.
