Student’s Photographs Selected for Pingyao International Photography Festival
Two of student Adam Dexter’s photos were selected, by jury, to show in the 2009 Pingyao International Photography Festival in Pingyao, China. The festival is China’s oldest and largest photography festival. Moment and Galaxy were two of the 100 images that were selected for the festival out of a total 450 entries. Moment was also one of 45 images chosen from over 800 entries in the 2009 DCist Exposed photography show hosted by the Flashpoint art gallery, earlier this year. Check out the full Hidden Galaxy series and other work at Adam Dexter’s Photography site.

On the Road to China!

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

[Cross-post from adamdexter.wordpress.com blog]

Alright, so today has been a good day (and I didn’t even seen 3 red cars in a row).

It’s a gorgeous day weatherwise, I busted out some sweet designs, made a pretty decent lunch. The place I work is going to pick up some really sick clients, so that means I’ll be working on some really awesome projects AND I just found out two of my images were chosen to show in Pingyao, China for the 2009 International Photography Festival. Which is apparently the “oldest and largest photography exhibition in China,” according to this tourism site. (Here are some cool pictures from last years show on a blog I found via google.)

So, if you happen to be around Pingyao between September 19th—26th, take some pictures for me, I’d love to see the show and my work there!

Oh, and here are the two images that were chosen (out of 450, of 100 others):

Maybe even a site redesign as well…

Unsaleable to release new Polaroid replacement film?

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

polapremium logoWhat’s going on at Unsaleable.com? I just got a somewhat cryptic email from them about a new site called Polapremium - it says it’s “The New Home Of Instant Photography.” Could it be?! I knew unsaleable was obsessed with Polaroid and had some neat connections with different suppliers, but this could be amazing. We’ll just have to wait, you can check the countdown here. Right now it reads at about 633,730 seconds, which is about 10,562 minutes or 176.03 hours or 7.3 days - which puts it at about Nov 27th, 2008 - so this should be cool. Can’t wait.

EDIT: yea, my original math did suck- I think I missed a digit or something- it should be right now.

ZOMG! Polaroid 600 Film MOTHER-LODE - Best day eva, so far.

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

So after searching craigslist every day for weeks, I found 10 packs of Time-zero, recently expired for $6 a pack.
I then lost them because I acted just a little too slow (they were located over an hour away… I couldn’t get there until the weekend etc, w/e- it ended up being good karma anyway- because apparently some girl had called the day before me from Colorado or something and said she was sending a check, the guy didn’t believe her and said he would sell it to me. The day I was supposed to come up, the check arrived and he told me sorry.).

I’m now officially over it.
